Our
country offers a wide range of different landscapes and climates.
The breathtaking
Alps form the backbone of Austria , with Großglockner as
the highest mountain reaching up to nearly 3.800m.
The east of
Austria is favoured by a rather gentle climate,
and this region
is famous for growing wine.
The south
is quite mild as well, and this part of Austria which attracts
huge numbers of visitors, is famous for its scenic lakes.
Austria is
also rich in farmland and there are a lot of farms producing organic
food.
Austria can
boast a long and rich history. Numerous famous people were born
or spent their lives here, among them most important musicians
and composers like Mozart, Beethoven, famous writers….and scientists…..
The Danube
is Austria`s main river and flows through its northern parts including
the capital city of Vienna, one of Europe`s most famous cities.
Vienna is
both well known for its history, art and music
as renowned
for its impressive buildings such as the magnificent St. Stephen`s
Dome
(Stefansdom)
or formidable Schloss Schönbrunn.
